Reo Chat is a service operated by Kanji Rocket Limited, a New Zealand company. In these Terms, “Reo Chat”, “we”, “us”, and “our” mean Kanji Rocket Limited.
These Terms apply to the Reo Chat website and its message, translation, account, feedback, and learning features, including the Reo Chat Learning Companion. By using Reo Chat, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
You must provide accurate account information, keep your login details secure, and tell us if you believe your account has been compromised. You are responsible for activity through your account unless it results from something Reo Chat is responsible for.
You retain ownership of text, images, feedback, and other content you submit. You give Reo Chat a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to host, store, copy, process, translate, adapt, display, and transmit that content only as reasonably needed to operate, secure, support, review, and improve the service, and to comply with law. This permission lasts while the content is held for those purposes.
You must have the right to submit and share your content. Do not submit content that infringes another person’s rights or unlawfully discloses their personal, confidential, or sensitive information.
Reo Chat uses automated systems and third-party services to provide translations, explanations, moderation, image search, and some learning features. Content entered for these features may be sent to those providers for processing as described in our Privacy Policy.
Automated translations and explanations can be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for a particular context. You should check important content with an appropriately qualified person, especially before using it for legal, medical, safety-critical, formal, or culturally sensitive purposes.
Optional third-party services, including GIPHY image search and a Patreon connection for the Learning Companion, may also be subject to the provider’s own terms.
Anyone with a shared-message link can view, copy, and forward the message. You are responsible for deciding who receives the link and what the message contains. Do not treat an unlisted link as a guarantee of confidentiality.
Messages created while you are signed in can be deleted from your account. Closing your account does not automatically delete public messages already shared. If you created a public message without signing in, can no longer access the browser that created it, or deleted your account first, you may request deletion at privacy@reo.chat. We may require reasonable verification before acting on a request.
You must not use Reo Chat to:
Authorised administrators may review messages, related activity, and feedback for support, quality review, abuse prevention, and service improvement. We may remove content, restrict access, or suspend an account where reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, protect users or the service, or comply with law.
Reo Chat and its software, design, branding, and service materials are owned by us or our licensors. Except for your own content and uses allowed by law, you may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, sell, or redistribute them without permission.
We may change, suspend, or discontinue features, and we do not promise that Reo Chat will always be available or that a shared link will remain available indefinitely. We may update these Terms by publishing a revised version and changing the effective date. If a change is material, we will provide reasonable additional notice.
Reo Chat is provided on an “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we do not give warranties about availability, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or freedom from errors. Nothing in these Terms limits rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, including any rights you may have under New Zealand consumer law.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Reo Chat is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss caused by relying on automated output without appropriate checking, or a recipient copying or forwarding content you chose to share.
You may stop using Reo Chat or close your account at any time. Provisions that by their nature should continue—including those concerning ownership, permissions needed for retained records, disclaimers, liability, and governing law—continue after your use ends.
